Q

describe open tray technique

A
  1. make a hole in the tray
  2. screw impression copings on implant – finger pressure no torquing (radiograph can be taken at this stage)
  3. fill impression tray with material and around implant site
  4. let it set
  5. UNSCREW IMPRESSION COPING
  6. impression is removed from mouth an the lab analog is attached to the impression coping

Q

steps in a closed tray technique

A
  1. screw impression coping into implant
  2. FILL TREY - there is NO HOLE IN THE TRAY
  3. put material around implant and place in the mouth
  4. seated – then use screw driver to fasten the impression coping (finger pressure) no torquing and a radiograph may be used to make sure it is seated all the way
  5. remove after sets
  6. unscrew the implant and connect is OUTSIDE THE MOUTH
  7. analog / coping assembly is then seated in the impression
