Henry was athletic, generous, educated and a show off.
Believed in Devine right of kings.

Decide England’s policy for himself, achieve victories in foreign wars.
Maintain law and order.
Be a good servant to the church.
To produce a son to continue the Tudor dynasty.
Henry’s strengths
Popular with the public.
Had a strong alliance with Spain.
He was surrounded by experienced advisors and had ambition to be a great king.
Henry’s weaknesses
He had little experience of government.
Didn’t want to be involved in day to day business of England.
Attitude to kingship was based on heroic legends rather than reality.
He had a desire to go to war.
Large ego.
Liked high risk sports.
