A

A

Fleeing driver incidents managed in safest poss manner.
Inquiry phase is preferred over a pursuit.
Only commenced and/or continued when the seriousness of offence and necessity of immediate apprehension outweigh the risk of pursuing.
Fact that driver is fleeing doesn’t justify pursuit.
Decisions to abandon will be supported.
Use risk based assessments (TENR) and apply flexible response to changing circumstances.
Fleeing drivers held to account.

Lead secondary passengers field supervisor pursuit controller ALL HAVE RESPONSIBILITY to make decisions about the safe mgmt and any of these can order pursuit is abandoned.
