Biophysics and Tissue Fluid Flashcards

1
Q

Tissue fluid formation

A
  1. At the arterial end the capillary hydrostatic pressure is higher than that of the blood colloidal osmotic pressure, leading to the movement of fluid out of the capillary
  2. Mid capillary there is no net movement due to no hydrostatic pressure gradient
  3. At the venous end there is re-absorption of fluid
