> Surgery

> Poor host defences - IDDM, alcoholism…

> MRSA, etc.!!

Indications:
> Aspiration of pus for diagnosis & culture
> Abscess drainage (multiple drill-holes, primary closure to avoid sinus)
> Debridement of dead/infected /contaminated tissue
> Refractory to non-operative Rx >24..48 hrs
