What do coloured objects do?
A
A coloured objects absorbs all other colours except for the colour that it appears to be. That is why we see that colour.

What are paints made up of?
A
Paints are made up of chemical pigments which trap and reflect light.

Why does an object look white? Why does an object look black?
A
An object looks white as all, or nearly all the colours are reflected.
An object looks black as none, or almost none of the colours are reflected.
