3. Pregnancy
4. Dehydration
5. Uncertainty about the diagnosis
6. No response to treatment within an hour.

What are the high risk features in patients with lower GI bleed?

1. Ongoing bleeding
2. Systolic < 100 mmHg
3. Abnormal clotting
4. Altered mental state
5. Significant co-morbidities

1. Age > 60
2. Significant co-morbidities
3. Taking NSAIDS & Aspirin
4. Evidence gross rectal bleeding
5. Haemodynamic disturbance
