TART: Tissue Texture

A
  • Inspection – surface markings, scars, bruises
  • Color – inflammation, infection, decreased blood flow
  • Temperature – cool or hot
  • Skin drag – perspiration, oiliness, dryness, swelling
  • Texture – rough, smooth
  • Turgor – how much elasticity is in skin. Affected by age, conditions, and hydration

Perform: Friction rub – do both sides become equally red?
