A

Iatrogenic
Traumatic
Spontaneous

Hypertension
Genetic
Connective tissue disorders
Eg Marfans, bicuspid aortic valve

What are the different types of arterial dissection?

A

A = prior to brachiocephalic artery —> emergency surgery required - 95% mortality w/o surgery

B = post arch if aorta—> immediate BP control and preventative surgery - may lead to renal and gut ischaemia
