- all people suffer and know sorrow
- desires cause suffering, in other words people suffer because because they try to get things they cannot have.
- end suffering by eliminating desires
- eliminate desires by following the eightfold path

A
the caste system was a from of society, people were born into their caste. you were not allowed to move into a different sate, the laws are what dictated what you could and could not do. there are 5 levels
- Dalit/untouchable they are the lowest, and performed unclean jobs like street,sweepets,waste handlers, dead boy handlers.
- Sudra,commoners,peasents,laborers,servents
- Vaishya, merchants, landowners
- Ksatrivia, warriors and rulers
- Brahmins,priests,scholars

- inoculation, the practice of infecting a person with a mild form of the disease so they will not become ill form the more serious form.

Hinduism -believed in multiple gods -polytheistic -trinity of gods .Brahma .Vishnu .Shiva -vedas/upanishads(scriptures) Buddhism -founded by Siddhartha -meditation -nirvana -Eightfold -the middle way similarities: religions, both came from India, cycle, birth,death,rebirth,karma,good deeds, no supreme being, no one holy book
