A

Give three examples of tissues in mammals and what they do.

A

Muscular tissue - which contracts to move whatever it’s attached to.
Glandular tissue - which makes and secretes chemicals like enzymes and hormones.
Epithelial tissue, which covers some parts of the body, e.g. the inside of the gut.

A

A group of different tissues that work together to perform a certain function.

Give an example of an organ and three tissues in the organ and what they do.

A

The stomach is an organ, made up of muscular tissue - moves the stomach wall to churn up the food. Glandular tissue makes digestive juices to digest food. Epithelial tissue covers the outside and inside of the stomach.

The digestive system breaks down and absorbs food. It’s made up of these organs: 1. Glands, 2. Stomach, 3. Liver, 4. Small intestine, 5. Large intestine.
