vasodilatory drug
used to treat angina

works as a K+ channel activator
works on GPCR with activation through guanylyl cyclase and increased cGMP

What are the side effects of ACE inhibitors?

A
  • dry cough (caused by increased bradykinin levels)
  • angioedema
  • hyperkalaemia
  • first dose hypotension (more common in patients also taking diuretics)

  • pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • renovascular disease
  • aortic stenosis
  • hereditary idiopathic angioedema
