-there’s industrial estates in the suburbs. They tend to locate in poorer areas with cheap land eg Sandyford industrial estate in north Dublin

- houses are evident of class. Detached with garden= rich, apartment block= poor
- high income areas have scenic views eg malahide and dun laoghaire
