  • Is a endocrine gland in your neck
  • It makes 2 hormones that are secreted in your blood, thyroxine and triiodothyronine
  • These hormones are necessary for all the cells in your body to work normally

Pancreas gland

A
  • Controls the level of glucose in the body
  • Non working pancreas is how you get type 1 diabetes
  • A pancreas that cant handle the amount of glucose, therefore gives you type 2 diabetes.

A
  • Controls the development of male secondary sexual characteristics and is involved in the production of sperm.
  • The testis are endocrine gland because they secrete testosterone.
  • A hormone that is vital to the normal development of male physical characteristics.

A

Controls growth in children
- Stimulates the thyroid gland to make
thyroxine (which controls rate of metabolism)
- Stimulates ovaries to produce and release
eggs in females
- Stimulates testes to make sperm and
testosterone in males

  • Prepares the body for stressful moments (fight or flight) response.
  • Small glands located on the top of each kidney.
  • They produce hormones that you cannot live without.
  • They produce sex hormones and cortisol.
  • With adrenal gland disorders, your glands make too much or not enough hormones.

  • In addition one of its roles is producing ova.
  • Ovaries are endocrine glands because they secrete hormones.
