What is an impact printer?
A
matrix of pins strike the surface of a paper through an inked ribbon to form letters, Can operate in dirty enviroments but are noisy slow and quality is usually poor

What is an inkjet printer?
A
One that sprays dots of ink onto the paper to create an image based on a resolution. These are great quality.
