Q

What is isothermal seperation?

A

If a sample contains components with closely similar boiling points, adequate separation with a short analysis time is obtained at one specific oven temperature. This is called an isothermal analysis

Q

What is cryo focusing?

A

Cold traps can focus the sample into a narrow band at the beginning of the column by cooling a short section of the column.

Cryo-focusing is used to narrow the width of a peak and improve signal to noise ratio.
