Q

what happens in minimal change disease?

A
  • T cell cytokines cause efacement (flattening out) of the podocytes- which repel negatively charged proteins in the nephrons to stop them from being lost in the urine
  • this results in nephrotic syndrome and loss of proteins in the urine-> but selective protein urea-. intermediately sized proteins such as albumin are lost
