5 paragraph order components

A

SMEAC
Situation- enemy, friendly forces, attachments/detachments
Mission- concise statement of task to be accomplished
Execution- CONOPS, subordinate tasks, coordinating instructions
Admin/logistics- rations, ammo, distro point, medical, handling of POWs, etc
Command & signals- instructions on comm, signals, pyrotechnics, restrictions

SALUTE report

A

S- size of aggressor unit (pax and vehicles)
A- activity of enemy
L- location (grid, landmarks, distance and direction from known point)
U- unit identifiers

Selection criteria for LZs

A

Ground chosen must support safe landing of helicopters (level <7*, free of debris/loose natural elements)
Identifiable from the air
Enemy situation must be such that site can be secured without undue interference from enemy fires

Daylight zone must be 100ft larger than diameter of rotor blades, night 150ft larger
Landing point 10x longer than height of obstacle
