Obstructive shock

A

SBP <90mmHg orMAP <70 mmHg
May have reduced urine output, altered mental status, etc
elevated lactate
Evidence of PE, Cardiac tamponade, tension pneumothorax

Cardiogenic shock

A

May have significant cardiac history
May present with chest pain, syncope
May have signs of heart failure- dyspnea on exertion/at rest, orthopnea, PND, leg swelling
Reduced urine output, may have altered mental status.
SBP <90mmHg or MAP < 70 mmHg
May have arrhythmias

Hypovolemic shock

A

Suspect with
cold clammy extremities, SBP < 90 mmHg, reduced urine output, +/- altered mental status
May have evidence of bleeding, internal fluid losses- third spacing, GI losses e.g profuse diarrhea
Elevated lactate
