Light tightness of extra oral cassettes

A

load a cassette with unexposed film + place on window sill in daylight for about 30 mins
process the film in normal manner, any areas where light has entered the cassette, will show as dark on a processed film

Film cassette tests

A

load cassette with unexposed film + same sized piece of graph paper
expose cassette to x-rays, using very short exposure time
process film + look for pattern of graph paper on film - this should be uniform, any areas that show loss of definition indicate the screen + film are not making good contact
