What is the salary you are looking for

A

I had a 100k base with 200k OTE and equity. But I’m also looking for a good company and place to grow. Is this gonna be near that.

A Deal you lost

A

Was working with CTO and everything seemed to be going well, he agreed with the price, the timelines, we had out trial go well where we found threats on their network and could make a tangible case, Good Mutual Plan and all he had to do was get the partners approval and he was not able to even with the examples and the partners wouldn’t meet with us. It was the main risk that I had prepared for and there wasn’t too much to do with it. I always make sure that I have multiple touchpoints

Challenging Deal

A

First got this meeting from a cold call with a CIO of a Real Estate company. He agrees to a trial and we meet some partners to help set it up. We go onsite for our first meeting and he doesn’t show up but the partners do. It is his network we need him there. We then realize that we will have to go through the partners and the only way they would agree is if they are using the technology themselves and can sell it their CEO. So we do that and give them a crazy discount to be our partners. The CIO is unrepsonsive for a while and then I found out that he moved to Bumble in Texas which surprised everyone else in IT. So someone gets promoted and doesn’t want the technology and before we take it offsite we find a instance of ransomware that was on their network and call him to let him know about it. We then have to basically restart the whole trial process and a couple of months later it was closed. Took about 6 months which was nuch longer than expected.

Why Convergint?

A

Great company, I like Steve, place of excellence, Get to grow and become and expert in the space. He really spoke to the character of the company, the step up program where you serve underserved communities. He told the story of Alex Gonzales which I’m sure he tells all the time but. He was here illegally pickingup wlanuts, he become a Janitor at Siemens Learned English and ended up being one of the sales reps here in Norcal, This role seems like it is established because reps couldn’t handle all of the business coming in which seems like a good sign.

Tell me about yourself

A

Ucla, Math/Econ, Didn’t like the solidarity of math jobs but still wanted some problem solving, went to Oracle for a great training program, first person in my hiring class of 50 to get promoted to a closing role, then went to Darktrace a smaller company with more growth potential, sold CyberSecurity in a smaller company and then went to AnyVision where I was building Socal from scratch but due to Corona they let get of about 80% of there North American team

What makes for a good Interview?

A

Getting the Interviewer to actually talk about themselves. Not just making it questions back and forth. Asking a lot of questions. Interrupting a little bit. Not talking too much on my side, practicing speaking the answers before the interview, actually bonding with the interviewer.

Why do you want to join the SLED team and work under the VMS space and Access Control?

A

I had Jen reach out to me about this position from the description and I haven’t worked with sled before but being able to be an expert in the field and the Security field is a great space to be.
