A
Transmembrane receptors involved in signalling cascade. RAS genes include (KRAS, HRAS, NRAS)

How does RAS gene work?
A
Protooncogene
Activated Ras activates further signal transduction pathways (i.e. the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAP) cascade) → transcription of target genes for cell growth and proliferation
Examples of RAS signalling pathways (insulin, platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF))
