What are the aims and difficulties of CITES?
Aims:
- aim to ensure trade of species doesn’t threaten their survival
Difficulties:
- enforcement not strict enough so not universally successful

Aims:
- provides guidelines on marine resources and which nations own dependent on nautical miles
Difficulties:
- doesn’t work when multiple nations nautical miles overlap

Aims:
- to protect the quantity, quality and sustainable use of transboundary water sources
Difficulties:
- political conflicts can still arise such as between Greece and Turkey

Aims:
- assess consequences to ecosystems and act to conserve

- overfishing can impact ecosystems

Aims:
- gives people permission to visit for scientific research
Difficulties:
- visitors can disturb fragile environment
