comparison of two unlike using like or as

reference to outside of the story

repeating over and over again

two words that usually wont go together

conflict a character has with themselves

conflict with a character and an external force

something that stands for something greater than itself

the message/lesson of the story

the ending of a story, all the loose ends come together
