The proliferation phase begins 2-24 days after the injury occurs. Proliferating subcutaneous fat.

What is the epitheliazation (remodelling) phase?

A

The epitheliazation phase begins 24 days - 1 year and beyond. Freshly healed epidermis.

Goals of wound assessment are:

A

This is dependent on the individuals wound for example, a leg ulcer may have a goal that focuses on maintenance. Whereas a simple skin tear may have a goal to what within a short period of time.
The goal that comes out of the assessment of the wound will determine the type of product that will be used.
