Q

How would you deal with a difficult & disruptive member of your team?

A

I would analyse the situation to be clear about the issue and the effect this person has on other team members.

  • I would take them aside and inform them that their behaviour isn’t appropriate and see if there was an underlying reason; it could be a personal issue or something about another team member.
  • If there was no underlying reason or if it wasn’t to my satisfaction, I would request that they make an effort to improve their outlook in future.
  • If their behaviour didn’t change to my satisfaction I would seek to replace the person with another member from the firm.
  • If there were still problems I would review the consultant appointment document to understand the termination clause and review with the client to seek the replacement of the consultant.
