  • Poor housing, lead to dangerous health problems
  • A lack of safe water and sanitation was the major problem, and lead to infectious diseases
  • health care was very expensive, so many of peoples diseases were left untreated.

o Antibiotics – Infectious diseases, e.g tuberculosis, syphilis
