Q

Why do you think Newton constantly referred to the mercy and providence of God that protected him for all those years before he entered the ministry?

A

Newton nearly lost his life several times at sea and nearly ruined his life by his riotous living. It was only by God’s mercy that he survived to become a hero of faith.
