Q

Explain enzyme action

A

Explain the diagram of the enzyme with the active site, enzyme molecule, substrates, when the reaction takes place, the enzyme substrates complex when the substrates are in the enzyme and when the substrates leave the enzyme it denatures so the enzyme can no longer catalyze the reaction

Q

Explain the effect of changes in pH on enzyme activity

A

Heat and ph can denature an enzyme. When an enzyme denatures its active site, it will permanently denature the shape so the substrate can no longer fit. The enzyme can no longer catalyze the reaction

Q

explain why enzymes work slowly at 10c*

A

They work very slowly because they do not have enough energy so they will work slowly so there will be less successful collisions

Q

explain why do enzymes do not work at all at 60 C*

A

They do not work at all because of the heat. They denature and no more successful collisions can happen
