A life scientist studies living things. Living things include plants, animals, fungi, and bacteria. Botanists are part of life science because they study plants.

A physical scientist studies matter and energy. Matter is anything that takes up space.
What is Earth Science?
An earth scientist studies the earth. This includes the study of rocks, volcanoes, minerals, or water.
