Q

What are the steps to calculating the inverse of a function

A
  1. replace f(x) with y
  2. rearrange to find x
  3. replace x with f^-1(x) and y with x
  4. Swap around the values for the domain and range

Q

say we had the equation f(x) = 2^x as x tends to 0,(find an approx to 5dp), what would we do here?

A

we would substitute suitable values of x, each time using a value closer and closer to 0 till we get 2 values that to 5dp are the same. in this case the answer would be 1.00000
