What modes on the climb page appear after and eng fail on takeoff?

A

Climb speed limit (engine out climb)

Then VREF+100 CLB when the flap handle is moved for retraction or airplane climbs through EO ACCEL HT

Commands accel to VREF +100. Upon reaching that airspeed the thrust goes to MAX CONT N1

How do you get to E/O climb?

What happens to the altitude and speeds?

A

VNAV, then activate ENG OUT

The computer calculates and resets CRZ ALT and EO SPD as well as recalculated crossing performance at the next waypoint.

If you have an engine out during high altitude cruise and you are above your drift down altitude, what will you see on your VNAV page?

What will the aircraft begin to do?

A

The title will change to LRC D/D
This tells you you are above drift down alt.

The computer automatically engages
THR. LNAV. VNAV SPD. to commence drift down to the altitude (once you put the alt in the alt selector)(be sure to push the button to synchronise the alt in the FMC)

Thrust set to MAX CONT and spd to LRC

With a Left FMC failure what does Timeout - Reselect mean on the CDU?

A

CDU unable to establish comma with FMC due to FMC failure.

You will also see a fail light.

ND will have map and Vtk fail flags
