What’s a shared album?
A
A shared album is any album in which you had named certain people as contributors when you had set up
the album.
Only the creator of a shared album can manage its privacy settings.
The process for adjusting the privacy settings for a shared album is the same as any other album, except that the options are slightly different.

can you add photos and videos to a post?

Doesn’t look like it.
However, you can add both to a album, but looks as if you need to post as either photo or video first, then after publishing you can add either content type to it.
