Vocab - Vector Graphics (Strand 4) Flashcards

1
Q

Vector Graphics

A

are points, lines, curves and shapes that are based on mathematical formulas. Is resolution-independent, when scaling there is no loss of quality.

Q

Bezier Curve

A

Are curved lines (splines) defined by mathematical formulas. The two endpoints of the curve are called anchor points. The other points, which define the shape of the curve, are called handles or nodes. Attached to each handle are two control points.By moving the handles themselves, or the control points, you can modify the shape of the curve.

Q

Transform

A

change in shape or appearance of something

17
Q

Constrain

A

Preserving the dimensions (Ratio of height and width) of one or more objects what transforming or scaling

18
Q

Pdf- Portable Document Format

A

Commonly used for sharing files, publishing electronic documents and eBooks. Can also store vector file information to use in other programs or printing. Files shared can provide security, not allowing them to be edited or copied.

19
Q

EPS - Encapsulated PostScript

A

Is an older vector file type universally supported by vector drawing programs. Can store vector and bitmap graphics with a preview of the image.
