10 minutes.
What skills do you show in question 1?
One paragraph on content of the source using contextual knowledge to support or challenge it. One paragraph on provenance of the source with contextual knowledge to support or challenge it. A conclusion about how useful the source is (it doesn’t necessarily need to be accurate to be useful).
How long should you spend on question 2?
10 minutes.
What skills do you show in question 2?
Explain the significance then- impact or effect of the event. Explain the significance now- is it still relevant today, what was the long term impact?
How long should you spend on question 3?
10 minutes.
What skills do you show in question 3?
At least 2 similarities between events explained in detail with contextual knowledge. Similarities could be causes of the events, what actually happened, the consequences of the events etc.
How long should you spend on question 4?
20 minutes including planning time.
What skills do you show in question 4?
Write about the influence of the factor named in the question plus 2 other relevant factors. One paragraph for each and a conclusion about whether the named factor is the most important.
