What is radius of action

A

The maximum ground distance that an aircraft can travel from a datum before returning to that same datum within a specified time

P=patrol time
T=time out
O=G/S out
H=G/S home
R=Distance to TP (radius of action)

T= (P x H ) / (O + H)

Point of safe return

A

A point beyond which an aircraft cannot fly and return to its own or some other associated base within the safe limit of endurance
