      • Pulls fluid into blood
    • Maintains concentration gradient b/w blood and extracellular tissue fluid
    • Carrier protein for:
      • Thyroxine

      • Barbiturates

    • Formation of platelet plug
      • interacts with thrombin
    • Fibrin cross-links to prevent further blood loss
