  • Das ist nicht nötig. - That is not necessary.

A

“Kein” negates the noun which follows.

It is a determiner and is inflected as an “ein” word:

  • Er kennt kein Buch von diesem Author. - He knows know book by this author.
  • Sie brauchen keine Rede zu halten. - You need make not speech.
