What are the precautions for a spinal surgery?

A

BLT

  • avoid excessive trunk flexion (bending)
  • avoid lifting >10lbs (gallon of milk)
  • avoid trunk rotation (twisting) –> use log rolling technique for bed mobility
  • don spinal orthosis prior to mobilization
  • no WB restrictions
