Q

Describe a role of the police

Investigating crimes

A

Gathering evidence through witnesses, DNA or CCTV

This is when police talk to witness to get a better idea for what happened and see if they can provide any useful evidence. They may also check the crime scene for DNA samples such as fingerprints or hair. Finally they may check any CCTV footage for clear evidence.

CCTV was used in the Susanne PIlley case to provide evidence of her killer David Gillroy even though her body was never found.
