A

Urine dip
- leucocytes, nitrites and blood

MSU culture
- organisms

urine microscopy
- bacteria, WBCs and RBCs

post void residual
- detects urinary retention

Imaging i.e renal US or CT

  • if suspected renal tract abnormalites
  • if unresponsive to Tx
  • recurring UTIs
