Q

Explain the development of the new technology of the early 1900’s. what effect will this new technology have on WW1? How did this new military technology change the military tactics of the time?

A

The new technology included fighter aircraft, automatic weapons, tanks, submarines and chemical gas. The goal of this new technology was to create more death and destruction. The new technology was built for speed and mobility. WW1 will be a mismatch of mobile technology and the poor tactics of trench warfare. This will cause WW1 to be a stalemate.

Q

Describe the U.S involvement in WW1. How intensive was the U.S war effort? Did American involvement influence the outcome of WW1?

A

At the beginning of WW1, the U.S was not involved. By 1915, the U.S was giving supplies to the allies. The sinking of the Lusitania caused the U.S to look for a reason to get involved in WW1. The interception of the Zimmerman note will get the U.S fully involved in WW1. The U.S will use convoy tactics to get soldiers to Europe. The U.S involvement will raise morale for the allies. The U.S involvement will be a big reason why the allies win WW1.
