Pt. won’t accept reassurance

What is illness anxiety?
A
Persistent belief that they have an underlying serious disease
Pt. won’t accept reassurance

What is conversion disorder?
A
Loss of sensory or motor function - the pt. is not doing it on purpose

What is dissociative disorder?
A
Separate certain memories from their consciousness.
The extreme of this is fugue state where a patient has amnesia for their own identity

A
Eliciting symptoms on purpose
