Q

Why should Nadolol not be given to people with asthma?

A
  • because bronchospasms can be reversed using beta-2 adrenoceptor agonists like salbutamol
  • salbutamol will stimulate the sympathetic system cause bronchodilation
  • however Nadolol will do the opposite and induce parasympathetic activity which will constrict the bronchioles
