Q

Describe what is meant by “Speed Stability” when the aircraft is in alternate law.

A

High Speed Stability - Initiates a nose up command if speed exceeds Vmo/Mmo (This command can be overridden by the sidestick.) Low Speed Stability - Initiates a gentle nose-down command as the aircraft approaches Vsw. (This command can be overridden by the sidestick.)

Q

Will the aircraft stay in alternate law until you land?

A

It depends. No, if degrade was due to failures of redundant systems further degradation would result in direct law upon gear extension and autopilot disconnect. Yes, degrade was a result a abnormal attitude recovery.
