ndications Antiarrhythmic
• Torsade de pointes associated with prolonged QT interval
Respiratory
• Severe bronchospasm unresponsive to continuous albuterol, ipratropium, and IM epinephrine.
Obstetrics
Pregnancy > 20 weeks gestational age with evidence of eclampsia or pre-eclampsia: Pre-Eclampsia: Hypertension > 180 mmHg systolic or > 120 mmHg diastolic, localized edema, headache and/or altered mental status
Eclampsia: Preeclampsia + seizures

Dosage and Administration
Torsades de Pointes suspected caused by prolonged QT interval:
2 g, IV bolus.
Refractory Severe Bronchospasm:
2 g, IV bolus, over 2 minutes CONTACT BASE for order.
Eclampsia:
Mix 6 g, IV drip, diluted in 50 ml of Normal Saline over 15-30 minutes. CONTACT BASE for order.
