What is the Moro startle reflex?
-Baby spreads arms out, then back in, then cries
When does moro reflex disappear?
4-5 months
What is the tonic neck reflex also known as?
Fencing reflex
What happens in the tonic neck reflex?
When arm extends he direction that the babies head is facing and the opposite side is flexed
When does the neck reflex appear at?
2-3 weeks
When does tonic neck reflex disappear at?
6-9 months
What is the grasp reflex?
When an object is placed in infant’s hand and strokes their palm, fingers will close around it and they will grasp

5-6 months
What is the rooting reflex?
Infant turns head toward anything that strokes his cheek or mouth, searching for object by moving head until object found

At birth
When does rooting reflex disappear?
By ~4 months
What is the sucking reflex?
Child instinctively sucks anything that touches roof of mouth
