Q

Rational vs Irrational numbers

A

Key Differences #Rational numbers are the numbers that can be written in fractional form while irrational numbers are the number that cannot be written in the fractional form. Rational numbers can be written as the ratio between two integers whereas irrational numbers can never be expressed as the ratio between the two integers.

Q

prime and composite numbers

A

A prime number is a whole number greater than 1 whose only factors are 1 and itself. A factor is a whole number that can be divided evenly into another number. The first few prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23 and 29. Numbers that have more than two factors are called composite numbers.

Q

Integers

A

An integer (from the Latin integer meaning “whole”) is colloquially defined as a number that can be written without a fractional component. For example, 21, 4, 0, and −2048 are integers, while 9.75, 5+1/2, and √2 are not.

Q

Common factors (tree pyramid)

A

In Maths, common factors are defined as factors that are common to two or more numbers. In other words, a common factor is a number with which a set of two or more numbers will be divided exactly. Common Factors of Two Numbers To find common factors of two numbers, first, list out all the factors of two numbers separately and then compare them.

Q

Multiplication inverse property

A

The inverse property of multiplication basically tells us: any number * its reciprocal = 1 If you have a whole number like 5. Change it to its fraction 5/1.

Q

Communitive vs associative property

A

Communitive means “ commute” Numbers move to change places. 2x3=6 3x2=6

Associative means “group together” With numbers not moving, just parenthesis
2(3x4) —> (2x3)x4

Q

The radius of a circle

A

Divide the circumference by π, or 3.14 for an estimation. The result is the circle’s diameter.
Divide the diameter by 2.
And there you go, you found the circle’s radius.
