dickens wants to critique that social injustice is synonymous with avariciousness from the upper class and how the rich perpetuate bad thing in society that need to change

dickens uses the weather as a motif to reflect scrooge and resemble the bleakness of scrooge.
context of the fog
in 1873-1879 the fog killed people in london and this shows how the rich have the power in society and how they kill the poor

this personification shows that the power of nature may be an allusion for the forthecoming of the supernatural.
