Fred is described as generous, happy and mostly resembles Fan. Scrooge and Fred are foil characters as Fred loves christmas and generosity while as Scrooge does not like christmas a sharing.

The ghost of Christmas past teaches scrooge of past memories and how he was kind and generous but became cold and bitter so he can change, he still has it in him.
